THERAPY INTERVENTIONS

MANUAL PHYSICAL THERAPY is a structured approach of manual examination and treatment techniques integrated

with exercise, patient education, and hands-on methods to address pain, loss of function, and wellness

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is a form of physical therapy which uses the controlled movement and pressure of hands to treat various disorders of soft tissues and joints. Manual therapy helps in improving joint mobility, alignment, tissue repair, lymphatic drainage, and function.

Trigger Point Needling is "insertion without injection." According to research published by the Rheumatic Disease Clinics of North America, it’s clear that trigger points and tender points can be considered causes of myofascial pain and, as such, can benefit from treatment. For the purposes of rehab therapists, trigger points and tender points are areas of tenderness occurring in muscle, muscle-tendon junction, bursa, scar tissue, or fat pad, and can be treated by needle insertion.

Muscle Flossing

Tissue or Muscle Flossing (AKA "Voodoo Flossing") is a method of soft tissue mobilizations that restores joint range of motion, increases blood flow to restricted areas, and compresses swollen joints that lack motion and are stiff. It also will constrict blood flow to the compressed area, and when you take it off, the blood flow rushes to the affected area and floods it with oxygen and nutrients.

Kinesiotaping is often used to mitigate pain and swelling while changing the flow of lymphatic fluid, to add extra support to muscles or joints while allowing you move normally, to help re-train muscles that have lost function or that have gotten used to an unhealthy way of working, to increase your awareness of how you’re standing or moving, and many athletes believe it will help them achieve peak performance and protect against injury when they’re competing in special events.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping Therapy, which uses cups to create suction on the skin, is a popular treatment for muscle tension, chronic pain, fatigue, and inflammation. Cupping involves placing small cups on troubled areas of the body and creating suction to pull the tissue up slightly. This may help relax muscles and tissues, relieve pain, and trigger the body's natural healing processes.
